The Engineering Challenge
The architectural design required an elegant, twisting facade that induced complex aerodynamic vortices, threatening structure oscillation under maximum lateral wind forces.
Technical Solutions & Calculations
We modeled the structure's core inside our Finite Element simulation engines. We designed a dual outrigger structural belt and detailed high-performance concrete shear walls. Additionally, we advised the team on the sizing and installation of a Tuned Mass Damper (TMD) on the 80th floor.
Structural & Financial Results
Saved 12% in raw steel weight by shifting reinforcements only to coordinates experiencing peak bending stress, while ensuring compliance with ASCE wind parameters.
